time
has been kind to neither woman. Inside sources tell us Tabitha is
quiet, keeps to herself and avoids all unnecessary drama.
Redemption of Buck is entirely possible. I'm confident she is not remotely the person she was when she made the decision to kill. To deny inmates the possibility of change is to believe that we too can not change since we have more in common with them then we dare admit to ourselves.
When the Supreme Court ruled that life
sentences without parole were unconstitutional when utilized against
juveniles, Buck became eligible to be re-sentenced for her role in
the murder. She had the decency to testify on the stand, stating:
“Honestly, I have some mixed emotions about today’s proceedings,”
she said. “I can’t imagine how Laurie’s family feels that this
is even happening. I also can’t imagine how my family is feeling
that this is even happening”. Time will tell if she is safe to live
in society without causing futher harm to others. In her defense, she
was new to the area, had no friends and was befriended by Lambert who
has proven herself to be controlling, domineering, and rather
mentally ill. If released, she would relocate to Oregon, where she
has family.
The same can not be said of Lambert.
She is housed in the state of New Jersey due to rape allegations
against Pennsylvania Corrections officers. You may recall that she
alleged the local police of gang raping her. Clearly her opinion of
herself and her attractiveness level to men is a bit too high. (On a
serious note, rape is never about sex, but rather power). Lambert is
ineligible to be re-sentenced due to the fact she was 19 years old at
the time of the murder. Further, Lambert has written a “tell-all”
book that offers no new evidence and insists she was framed by the
police and confessed to protect her abusive boyfriend. While I do not
recall hearing evidence about abuse during the trial, he certainly
had a penchant for date rape or a sense of entitlement much higher
than the average teen boy. Having read some highlights of the book, it is fanciful story spinning at it's finest. She claims victimhood in every scenarios she chooses to present and presents herself as a completely innocent victim. Even if she was afraid of her boyfriend, she still chose to murder someone else. She is right where she needs to be.Redemption of Buck is entirely possible. I'm confident she is not remotely the person she was when she made the decision to kill.
