Who Killed Candida Jimenez?

On March 22, 2018 Candida Jimenez was walking with two male friends towards her apartment when an unknown male approached them and demanded her purse. He shot her friend in the foot, Candida was shot nine times. The shooter then fled on foot with the purse. Candida was transported to University Hospital where she died due to her injuries. She was only 22 years old at the time of her death. Police have not said if it was a robbery or a targeted attack.

The Victim
There was not a lot of information on her Facebook page which is maintained by her mother. She had at least one child, but again, it is unclear the number of children she had. There are not pictures of her engaging in high risk behaviors like drinking or using drugs. Her interests, music, movies and TV show preferences are very similar to her peers. I would say other then being out at 3:00 AM in the morning, she appeared to be a very low risk victim. Nothing indicates that she ever put herself in danger. The name is common (to a point) and the few results for criminal charges that came up were very minor and may not have even been her charges.

The Friend
Police released the name of the friend who was shot in the foot. He is twenty two years old and his name is Homero Sandoval (Note: I do not have information on this person at this time, but will add more details when I have them.). Another woman was present, but she fled the scene as soon as the shooting started.

The Suspect
The suspect, dressed in all black with a white mask-like covering over his face, attacked three people walking home in the 5900 block of Danny Kaye Drive just after 3 a.m, at the Seven Oaks Apartment Comples.

Theories
I personally do not believe this was a robbery for one minute. Why would the robber shoot the man in his foot and turn and shoot her nine times. I suspect someone wanted her dead, which would be accomplished by nine bullets. I also suspect the police have already figured out what has really happened. Having figured something out and having enough proof for court are two entirely different things. They may have to wait until someone gets arrested for a major crime and they have knowledge of this crime to offer for a lesser charge. Sad but true. There is no loyalty among thieves.

The Life and Times of Veronic Staley

Vernonica Staley was recently sentenced to life for the murder of Aljosa (Al) Memovic. She was thirty four years old at the time of the murder and was an aspiring singer. They had dated for some time, but in the previous year and half their relationship had deteriorated considerably. Friends had in fact warned Al to not meet up with Veronica. She had set up the telling him she had some of things to return and offered up “Dessert” after the lunch, according to the Houston Chronicle. While not much is known exactly about the length or nature of their relationship, relatives testified that Staley had deep mental issues after trauma she suffered in childhood. The prosecutors acknowledged she had issues, but said they were not sufficient enough to impact her sentencing. This is as it should be. There are literally millions of people living in the United States who have had childhoods filled with unimaginable pain and suffering who do not go on to kill others or live a life of cr...

Sterling Kohen & Questions

Sterling Kohen was a three month and thirty day old baby. At his murder trial, the prosecutor used the word malicious many times and to be honest, it's the perfect word. He was born healthy and over the course of his very short life he remained so and gained weight and grew. At some unknown point and for reasons that are not particularly clear, she began to resent his intrustion on the life she had shared with her older daughter Nala and he boyfriend Zach. He was found in a house that contained everything he needed to survive – formula, bottles, diapers, diaper rash cream, wipes, and clean clothing and blankets. It was not as if they could not afford to care for him. The father believed he was not his child and ignored him for the most part, which no doubt played a part in his mother's rejection. Both parents were abusing meth at the time of the murder. The father was gainfully employed and provided for the physical needs of the child. At the Zach's trial, DN...

Tabitha Buck

Tabitha Buck was convicted in the murder of Lauri Show along with Lisa Michelle Lambert. Clearly, time has been kind to neither woman. Inside sources tell us Tabitha is quiet, keeps to herself and avoids all unnecessary drama. When the Supreme Court ruled that life sentences without parole were unconstitutional when utilized against juveniles, Buck became eligible to be re-sentenced for her role in the murder. She had the decency to testify on the stand, stating: “Honestly, I have some mixed emotions about today’s proceedings,” she said. “I can’t imagine how Laurie’s family feels that this is even happening. I also can’t imagine how my family is feeling that this is even happening”. Time will tell if she is safe to live in society without causing futher harm to others. In her defense, she was new to the area, had no friends and was befriended by Lambert who has proven herself to be controlling, domineering, and rather mentally ill. If released, she would relocate to Oregon, wher...
